Almond is a muddy yellow. A mix of yellow and gray or brown (a bit of gold too) will produce an almond color. Almond is made by mixing yellow and yellow oxide or raw sienna into a white base, then deepened as needed with burnt umber. Colorants that can be used to make Almond: Yellow, Yellow Oxide, Raw Sienna, with Burnt Umber and / or Raw Umber into a tinting white base.
Tones, Shades and Tints of Almond are made by adding white (or using less tint in a white base), or by strengthening the color by adding more tint. Adding gray or brown(Raw Umber or Burnt Umber) will also give you a deeper shade of Almond. See Analogous Colors
Almond is a neutral color that can be used on both ceiling and walls. It works well on trim as an "Antique White" (yellowed white). Almond makes for a good warm "Off White", where a pure white may be too stark and cold in some situations.
Located on the color wheel between yellow/green and yellow/orange. The tint blend is then added into a white base and deepened with small amounts of Raw Umber or Burnt Umber to achieve the Almond hue desired.
