Most blues used today are grayed to mute the color. Complements of blue are creams, buffs and beiges, which will work for trim and door paint color.  Ceilings can be painted in white or the an off white complement color (light cream, light buffs, or light beiges).  Accents can be purples: wine colors or a deep plum.  Analogous color schemes are various hues of blue, purple, red-purple, or blue purple.  Simple color schemes will use various tints, shades or tones of blue.

Grays can be  silver gray, gun metal gray or blue grays.  Deep grays are good accent colors and can be combined with plum or wine accents.  Complementry  colors with gray are white and light gray tints and tones.  Grays work together with blues very well and go well with the beige, creams and buffs also.
