Q: How do you paint faux stripes with three colors?
Answer: Good question. Normally with striping you will be painting with only two colors. You will paint the room in total in one of the stripe colors and then mask off the room to paint the second stripe color..
The easiest way to paint stripes with three colors is to paint the room in the same manner as with the two color method and then mask off the room in the usual two color way but alternate the colors of the striping. This method will give you all three colors with the first "base coat" color being the dominant color.
The usual two color striping method alternating colors with every strip
The easiest way to stripe with three colors is to paint the whole room with one of the stripe colors (use the color that you want to have the most stripes with), then mask off the room just like the two color method but this time alternate with the second and third colors.
Another way to paint stripes in three colors where you will have an equal number of each color stripe (and still do the striping in one masking layer) is to pin stripe between the second and third stripe as illustrated below.

Use 1/8" or 1/4" tape for the pin stripe and 2" or 4" for your main stripes.
