Before hanging the first strip, you need to let the strip "book" for the prescribed time.  Booking allows the wallpaper to expand off the wall.  If you don't wait and the wallpaper expands on the wall, you will have blistering all over the length of the strip.
If you have waited (and didn't miss a spot on the gluing or activating), and smoothed the strip down thoroughly, you may still get a blister or two but they will lay down as the paper dries.
Hanging the First Strip
You will mark a plumb line using a pencil and level on the wall at your first strip location (above the door) according to the engineering you did at the start.  Hang the first piece along the plumb line. Set your pattern at the top as you will want it to be for the whole room.  Remember the long fold should be the top of the strip.  Let the paper open up as you place it into place with your hands.

Once the paper is in place and plumb, smooth it down from the inside out with a smoothing brush or plastic smoother.  Note: Use gentle pressure with the plastic smoother as they are more likely to stretch the paper out, distorting the length and making pattern matching a problem. Try to smooth the paper from the middle out to the side as opposed to top to bottom to lessen the likelihood of stretching the strip.

Scrap Box
Use a cardboard box as a waste basket for to drop your trimmings into, this will keep the drop cloth clean from glue.  A four gallon box that the paint store receives their paint shipments in works great for this.

The Next Strip etc…
Butt the seams together matching the pattern up.  Keep an eye on your level line (see Hanging Wallpaper Plumb and Level ), don’t let your pattern run up or down from this line. Once the strip is down and smoothed , you will roll the seam with your seam roller. The seam roller will set the seam.  Push or pull the seam together or apart as needed to get a good seam without overlap or gap as you roll the seam out.  Clean the strip with your sponge as described earlier and on to the next strip.

Trimming
Use a new blade and cut the overage at the top and bottom of the strip using the smoother or metal 6” spackle blade as a cutting guide.  Change blades often.  Sharp blades make clean cuts. Dull blades rip and tear.

Rinsing
Rinse the ceiling and baseboard as well as the face of the wall covering after each strip is hung using a synthetic sponge and clean water..  Change water often .
