When the call comes in that your proposal has been accepted you will need to "book" the job.  They will want to know when to expect you to begin the work and you will need to keep an orderly sequencing of your jobs.

You could use an appointment book to record your jobs, but what I have found that works best is a calendar that you can write the job info on and edit - this works best for me.

The schedule at a glance
I use a calendar program on the computer so that I can see my schedule at a glance and also add and edit critical job information.  I use Microsoft's Works program calendar for this important task.

Information I include on the calendar
When I get an acceptance of a proposal, I look at my estimation worksheet and see how many days the job will take, then I look for an opening that will accommodate the job and if it works with the customer's schedule, I enter it on those days.  Along with the job I will include any notes such as what time to start on day one, I will also enter the price of the job in a separate column which automatically totals what money is coming in for the month so I know where I stand in terms of revenue for the month.

Keep this on the computer rather than in paper format, so that you can edit and make changes as needed.  The schedule will change a bit as things progress for a variety of reasons: you went too long or shorter than expected on a previous job and need to move up a job to avoid a gap in the week's schedule, or the customer asks for a change of date for whatever reason.  You need to be able to edit your calendar/schedule - which you can't do on a paper calendar or appointment book.

Additional information you may want to note
Along with the scheduling calendar I will keep a kind of "job ticket" in a folder that goes with me everyday.  The job ticket consists of the proposal contract, a color selection sheet, a Google map to the job with any nearby store locations noted such as the nearest Sherwin Williams paint store (for paint runs), or perhaps a hardware store (for misc. hardware items).  The job ticket is simply all these items paper clipped together and filed in the folder.
